Why has Wendy been able to accomplish so much?
With a strong background in Business Management and Marketing (MBA), she is able to assess the needs of your company and input regarding the structure, from the staffing positions to the paperwork, so it will run smoothly as success comes. She enjoys helping set up releases, and targeting regional areas for sales thereby giving the label a track record of success. Labels can benefit from her years of experience working with small labels such as Master P's No Limit, Cash Money, Inner Soul, Twista's Legit Ballin', Ruff Ryders, C-Murder's TRU Records, Beats By The Pound's Overdose Entertainment, BG's Chopper City Records, Power Houze Records, Fiend Entertainment, Trill’s Lil Boosie & Webbie, TMI Boyz, Young Jeezy's CTE, BloodRaw Music, etc. There isn't much she hasn't seen or overcome, and your company can benefit from her experience.
Do I need to keep hiring her for every release?
Hell no, unless you want to. She doesn't believe in feeding the hungry, she believes in showing them how to feed themselves by teaching them how to fish… By providing access to her connections and utilizing her experience, she is able to educate your staff while saving your company from making costly, harmful mistakes. Navigating through the music industry is never easy and there are a ton of pitfalls and sharks ready to scam small labels at every turn: she stops you from wasting your money, so you can do it properly from the start.
She helps establish direction, provides a comprehensive and easy to follow marketing plan (Plan Of Attack), and quarterbacks the project through its first release, providing the groundwork and helping to ensure success for your label. She has given structure to chaos, and creates clear plans for success that anyone with ambition and proper financing can apply. Running a label isn't difficult, it just takes understanding, experience, organization, and timing--all areas where she excels. It's your money and your future, so why not do it right?
The process of releasing records varies depending upon timing, the music, the viability of individual marketplaces, and the sales climate, so it is difficult to estimate the exact amount of time Wendy will need to work with your company, but her consulting is for the duration of your first project from set up through release. On average, this is roughly a three month period. Your staff will have complete access to her afterwards for follow up questions and advice, within reason. The only additional expense you will incur regarding her travel expenses into the marketplaces, if necessary.
How and when do we pay her?
Because the bulk of the information and services rendered occur at the beginning of the project, and since her price is very fair (she's not taking a percentage of sales for the life of the project, which she could do, and to make back the fee she charges, you only have to sell about 9,400 CDs) it is important that she receives her payment as follows:
· $50,000 on hiring her to work with you
· $30,000 thirty days into the project
It is imperative that you stick to the agreed upon payment schedule. If not, she will stop working immediately and take legal action which will cost you all legal expenses in addition to the agreed upon fee. We are most certain this will not be a problem, but feel it only fair to state it upfront.
What's it really gonna cost?
$80,000, plus you must have marketable music, and you must have at least $150,000 to $500,000 to put out your record and work it properly regionally. You will need to bring her into your city twice during this process, which will include airfare and a hotel for a few days.
Why just put out a record when you can build your empire for the same price?!
